Casio G-SHOCK Drops Integrated Strap And Bezel GA-B001

Casio G-SHOCK has dropped a new design with integrated bezel and strap construction.

The two-piece strap and bezel fit in place over the watch head at the 12 o’clock and six o’clock positions and are securely fastened by two screws at the three and nine o’clock and two bolts at the top and bottom.

The thinking behind the new construction builds on the shock-resistance credo of G-SHOCK by removing the need for traditional spring bars.

G-SHOCK is introducing the construction with four new references; GA-B001 in black and red and GA-B001G in black/red and black/blue colorways.

The moulded construction also allows for a more ergonomic fit, minimising the space between wrist and watch, while the new design brings together analogue hands with round, three dimensional hour markers.

G-SHOCK supplements the analogue time indication with all of the digital features that the brand is known for including Mobile Link Bluetooth smartphone pairing for app-based automatic time setting and notifications, world time, stopwatch and alarms.

The watches – which are water resistant to 200m and weigh just 51g – drop next month priced $130 USD for the GA-B001 (£120 GBP in the UK) and $150 USD for the GA-B001G (£140 GBP).

Elsewhere in watches, Phillips set to auction-off George Daniels’ own daily wear tourbillon.
