Longines’ New Dress Watch Honors Its 190th Anniversary

When you’re approaching 200 years of existence, you’ve earned the right to celebrate any and every anniversary. Including its pilot watches and divers that have paid homage to the brand’s 190 years of watchmaking, Longines has underscored several releases this year, whether overtly or subtly, with nods to its past. However, the latest dress watch trio from its Master Collection is arguably the most straightforward celebration.

The Swiss luxury brand has tapped its Master Collection to showcase watchmaking in its purest form. Housed in either stainless steel, 18K yellow gold, or 18K rose gold, the three 190th Anniversary watches boast a striking appearance in their simplicity. Utilizing stylized Arabic numerals, the timepieces have just three hands, with the seconds indices displayed on the inner bezel, and lack a date aperture of any kind.

Aside from the stainless steel version, which sports blue-colored hands over a silver dial and is not limited in its release, the two gold watches are limited to just 190 pieces. The yellow gold has matching hands over a gray dial, while the rose gold surrounds an anthracite black dial. All three timepieces house the Longines exclusive caliber L888 automatic movement within their 40mm cases, visible through the open casebacks. The outer ring of the caseback is engraved to commemorate the anniversary edition.

The non-limited-edition stainless steel watch is priced at $2,400, while the two limited-edition gold watches are priced at $12,000. The Master Collection 190th Anniversary watches are available for pre-order now through Longines’ website.
